LEBUH MUNTRI, formerly home to many upper middle-class Straits Chinese, still has a few rows of shophouses whose five-foot ways are laid with intricately-designed tiles. Some are tesellated, a few just resemble such tiles in design, while some others bear influences of art nouveau.
