THE Chinese New Year celebrations started rather sombrely in Penang on the first few days and exploded into an extravaganza of festive joy on: - Saturday (Jan 31, 2009) when the state government open house was held along Lebuh Campbell. Read here for Star Online report "Cultural Extravaganza"
- Sunday (Feb 1, 2009) when the CNY Heritage and Culture Celebrations were held in the vicinity of Lebuh Armenian, Lebuh Aceh and Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling (read here for Star Online report, "An Explosion of Chinese culture" and blog inputs in Anything Goes here, Colours of my Heart here and Malaysia for All here.
